Douro Valley

A blend of Portuguese grape varieties on the South bank of the River Douro.

Largely a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cao, Tinta Roziz, Tinta Barroccaand Tinta Amarela, grown on the schistious hillsides of Quinta da Foz de Temilobos

The name Temilobos is shared with a tributary of the Rio Douro (River of Gold) that joins it on the edge of the property - from 'de mil lobos': of a thousand wolves.

The Delaforce family have owned and run the property for over 80 years. Management and production are carried out by David Delaforce along with his son Nicholas. Soil management and wine distribution are by his son-in-law Alastair MacMillan in Scotland.

The first batch sold was the 2009 vintage; a total of 900 bottles - shipped in November 2011 - sold to family and friends by Easter 2012. 2,400 bottles were produced in 2010 and a similar volume of the 2011 vintage is available. Production is being increased to make more wine available in the years to come and as demand grows.
