From the heart of Portugal to your glass

Temilobos starts its life on the rugged hills of the Douro Valley, the home of some of the finest
Portuguese wines

Situated on the south bank of the Rio Douro, Quinta da Foz de Temilobos is on the N222. 10km (6.3 miles) east of Peso da Regua and 19km (11.75 miles) west of Pinhao.

In recent years, the damming of the river, for hydroelectric generation, and dredging to make the Douro fully navigable, has enabled a growing number of river cruisers to operate on the river. People are coming from all over the world to enjoy the scenery and other attributes of this very beautiful part of the world.

The local authority is the Camara de Armamar, the town itself being higher and cooler than the Quinta and the area also being famed for its apples as well, of course, as its grapes. On the bank opposite Temilobos runs the Oporto to Pocinho railway which provides another relaxed and very scenic view of the countryside as it follows the river towards Spain.

With archaeological remains left by the Romans and Celts amongst others; a dramatic landscape dominated by miles and miles of vine terraces, old and new; plus good wine, food and a very warm welcome from the locals, it is hardly surprising that visitors look forward to coming back.
